HF Receiver Noise Floor Measured
Oct. 18, 2024
As part of the commissioning campaign for the HF Antenna, the CatSat team has measured the change in the noise floor due to the HF upconverter board on the spacecraft. This board is essential for the AstroSDR to receive and record the signals reaching the antenna. By measuring this noise effect, the spacecraft has demonstrated both that the AstroSDR is correctly receiving and storing data and that the HF upconverter board is operating. This is an important step towards the success of the HF antenna experiment. For more information, check out the Ionospheric Research page.
